This musical version of the famous Hans Christian Anderson story was the first collaboration of the well known Broadway composing team Lynn Ahrens & Stephen Flaherty.

 

Roland is musical director and also appears as Maurice (the swindler…!) who takes up residence in the Palace whilst, supposedly, creating the beautiful and magical new clothes for young emperor, Marcus.

The cast of eight also features Daniel Anderson, Lyle Buxton, Marion Loudon, Mtho Zulu, Amahle Tembe, Roshanda Lewis and Keryn Scott. Direction is by Steven Stead, sets by Greg King, lighting by Tina le Roux and sound design by Stephanie Pais. New musical arrangements have been created by Jaco Griessel.
