Roland was engaged by Eden College and Glenwood High School to be musical director for “13 The Musical” which played at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre. Working alongside directors Marion Loudon and Kirsten Smith, with choreography by Jasmine Rose, this popular musical (now a Netflix movie) created great excitement for learners and audiences alike.
With a challenging score by Jason Robert Brown the learners chosen to participate needed exceptional vocal skills and were able to deliver nuanced performances bringing the characters to life. The story hits home with challenges facing real life teenagers who are searching for their place in the world.
